Vanishing Point

This ongoing series focuses on the endangered species of Maryland. The circular theme running throughout the pieces is meant to remind the viewers of halos, which are often depicted throughout art history framing subjects that are to be considered holy and should be revered. These threatened species are also sacred subjects in their native spaces and are deserve to be protected, respected, and celebrated.

It is my hope that by creating this series I can draw attention to some of the less iconic, but equally threatened species that are being impacted by our planet's current loss of biodiversity. We may not notice the absence of the green salamander or the rusty patched bumble-bee, but our actions are directly impacting their ability to live.
